Why do I need to add my Drivers Licence?Vai is a highly secure platform designed to ensure the accuracy and reliability of vehicle information. That being the case, Vaibot only allows legitimate vehicle owners and externally verified partners to contribute to the vehicle's database, making vehicle information in our platform robust and trustworthy. Providing your Driver's License is crucial for verifying vehicle ownership. This process prevents unauthorised additions or management of vehicles on our platform. We prioritise your privacy and security. Your drivers licence details are encrypted for maximum security and is deleted from our systems within 48-hrs. Our focus is on providing you with a cutting-edge and trustworthy solution to simplify your vehicle ownership journey.

I'm not receiving notificationsWhen users are not receiving reminders or notifications, it could be due to either one of these 2 reasons. Permissions are not set in the app setting or you have not allowed notifications in your smart phone settings. Go to Menu - Settings - App Permissions - Notifications. Set notifications phone setting to 'Allow Notifications'. And, if you have any user set reminders, within your VAI app, you can review these settings by going to Menu - Reminders.

I can't add my vehicle to VAIThere will be very few times when this can occur and it will often be related to the vehicle being either owned by a company or a trust. If the vehicle is not owned by an individual, your licence details will not match with NZTA's ownership registrar. If this is the case, please open a ticket and provide us with the vehicle plate number, the name under which the vehicle is registered, your full name and your relationship to the entity that owns the motor vehicle. One of our agents will contact you to help add this vehicle to your account.

Can I renew my Rego though the app?Yes. VAI makes rego renewals easy with a click of a button. Registration renewal is initiated in the app and completed directly through the NZTA portal, so the process is both secured and effective immediately.
